Summer Fun

So far this summer has been action packed and we still have 6 weeks left! Hooray....may the fun never stop! Here are some highlights of the past two weeks.
Of course we are having a super blast with our dear sweet Pollock family that has been in town for a month.... they return to Mexico this Sunday and a part of our hearts goes with them. We have had a wonderful time hanging out with them and we will miss them big time!

Baby Ben has been officially voted nicest baby in the universe by our family.... he is such a joy - sweet, smiley, wonderful! He has stolen the hearts of all who have cared for him during Jonny and Julies training at OMS headquarters..... including ours!
We have loved re-connecting with friends since we have been back in Indiana. Above our kids are pictured with the Bishop gang.... some of our closest friends with whom my kids were inseparable before we moved to Mexico. They have since moved to a neighboring state - but we loved having them visit with us last week..... The kids have quickly rebuilt their friendship and Jeb is the official hero for my boys (He knows lots about Star Wars!) Here the kids are pictured dressed up in Star Wars gear at the Indianapolis Children's Museum.

No summer in Indiana is complete without a visit to a county fair! What fun to take our kids with our dear friends the Schillings to check out and experience the fair! Here is the gang on a Merry-Go- Round.
Of course you have not lived until you brave the midway at a fair.... and thankfully the night we visited was not crowded and we were able to let the kids pick a ride... Most of the machine operators were from Mexico and when we spoke to them in Spanish they were overjoyed. As a result of our ability to communicate with them our kids got extra long rides and most of the guys let all of the kids hop on for the price of one! I always knew Spanish would pay off back here in the states! :)
The kids on the roller coaster... who loved it most of all? Amelia! We have a serious thrill seeker on our hands!
Animals! All of our aggie friends cover your eyes.... yes, we are ashamed to say that we have strayed from our agricultural background in the past years (not many animals in Mexico City) and this was a new experience for our kids to get so close to farm animals..... The best thing they had to relate the experience to was Charlotte's Web. The good news? They loved it... the boys wanted to hop in the pen with the pigs, which they did (as soon as they were in they said, Can we get out?) and below Amelia pets a moo.....cow..... Her daddy is proud!

Amelia and Luke Schilling tried out the healthiest item at the fair.... cotton candy - neither of them was very impressed with the sugary snack!
We have loved having our kids get to know those that are dear to us.... Amelia cuddles with Rita (our kids call her Nana).... It is so much fun to be back into Rita's daily life (right Rita?)
Finally, this past weekend we had an awesome opportunity to reconnect with some of Christians best friends from college. Four of these guys were in our wedding! We have not gotten together with this group for over 5 years! Last time we were together most of them did not have kids....now there were 8 guys....21 kids...all 8 and under. It was a joy to get to see these wonderful men with their wives and children!
